After seven years in hiatus, it’s good to be back again for yet another season of Naples Noteworthy. We made the decision to relaunch the magazine last fall because there were so many extraordinary people in the community we thought you should know about. People with passion, doing good things in the Naples area and abroad. People you should know.
People ask me how I pick the features for Naples Noteworthy. It has to do with a certain spark I see in a person, the bloom of genius displayed in whatever area of interest they are engaged in, whether it be the Arts, music, writing, acting, beauty, fashion, photography, modeling, fitness/sports, philanthropy, nature, or adventure. It’s not just the excellence and mastery they display in their craft or passion, but also the attitude they have about life. I love people who thrive on joy–people who are overcomers, no matter what obstacles they face. People who know what they want–because so few of us really do–and are willing to put in the time and effort to obtain it.
People featured in Naples Noteworthy are all extraordinary people. And the truth is, all of us have some of the extraordinary in us–we just don’t always believe in ourselves or push ourselves hard enough to achieve the things we desire. My hope is that these features will inspire you to dig inside yourself, to connect with your authentic self and be the person you were truly meant to be. It’s never too late to start painting or write that novel or get into better shape. Most of us knew what we wanted to do with our lives when we were children, until reality got in the way. What dreams are still lurking within you?
